1 in 7 suffer from sleep \'drunkenness\' - one way car alarm
Did you pick up the phone in the morning and find out that it was actually your alarm clock ringing or chatting in the middle of the night and waking up the next day, not remembering?
A new study shows that you are not alone.
Researchers have found that many people have had similar experiences throughout our lives.
The study, published in the journal Neurology on Monday, said one out of every seven people suffered from sleep "drunkenness" disorder, also known as chaos wake-up.
The wake-up of chaos is when a person wakes up and stays in a state of confusion for a period of time before falling asleep or fully waking up.
According to the National Institutes of Health, these incidents usually occur in non-
Fast Eye movement (REM)
Sleep, this is a deeper period of sleep.
They are usually triggered by forced awakening, such as an alarm clock or a phone call.
The authors of the study asked more than 19,000 adults to fill out a survey of their sleep habits. They found 15.
2% of participants experienced a chaotic awakening in the past year. Dr.
The study's lead author, sleep expert at Stanford University, Maurice ohalyoung, was surprised by the high proportion.
When he looked closely, he said, he found that more than half of the participants had one or more chaotic emotions once a week, which was considerable.
"What's more interesting is how long the chaotic awakening seems to last," said Ohayon.
While participants in more than 1 out of 3 experienced an episode once a week, they reported that the episodes lasted less than 5 minutes and 32 minutes.
3% said their episodes lasted between 5 and 15 minutes, and 30% experienced episodes for 15 minutes or more.
If someone has gone through these events, they need to let their doctors know, says Ohayon.
According to the study, a Episode can lead to violent behavior during sleep.
"You can hurt yourself physically and others (else).
You wake up agitated and can be violent.
"He compared it to waking up in a hotel room --
You don't know where you are or when it is, so your reaction or reaction to the environment is not appropriate.
Shift workers, such as doctors or pilots, take a nap during work and may suddenly wake up and should stop their bodies from actually waking up for at least 15 minutes, say, command aircraft or create life-or-Death decision.
The study found that 84% of patients with sleep drunkenness also suffer from another sleep disorder, mental health disorder, or are taking psychiatric drugs such as anti-depression.
Less than 1% of people who sleep drunk do not have known causes or related diseases. Dr.
David Alexander Shulman, director of sleep labs at Emory University in Atlanta, said these incidents were not uncommon.
"15% sounds shocking," but most of us have had this experience when you think of it.
Lack of sleep can make the awakening of chaos worse.
As we all know, Americans lack sleep, Mr. Schulman said.
"If you sleep less than 6 hours a night and you're in a mess, the first thing you need to do is try to sleep a little more," he said . ".
Shulman expressed doubts about the number of participants who lasted more than 15 minutes.
While he says these plots can be common and interesting, most people don't keep on calling in 15 minutes when the alarm clock rings.
"I would be surprised if the episode lasted more than 15 minutes," he said . ".
"This is one of the problems of a subjective survey.
"One time, when I was traveling, living in a relative's house, in the room in the basement, when I woke up, it was dark and I lost my way thinking I was buried alive.
Very lost.
It took me a few minutes to remember where I was.
Let cr * p scare me for a few minutes, though. WAKE UP SHERRI! ! ! !
You start digging now! ! ! !
When my husband falls asleep in this lazy boy, he has this one.
When I wake him up and let him go to bed, he gets annoyed, angry and lost at times.
I kept my distance until he left!
Don't try to talk to people in this state, you will only irritate them.
Don't say anything, keep the distance-they will calm down and get back to their senses.
I remember living in a friend's house when I was a child, waking up in the middle of the night to pee, thinking I was at my house and finally falling down the stairs and landing in their kitchen.
Woke up the whole house at five o'clock A. M. .
I urinated in the fridge one night-it didn't get bigger the next morning.
My husband said that when he was in his 20 s, his roommate was drunk and urinated on the sound.
I was so drunk and sleepy.
Man, I just passed out.
I have the same thing.
I passed out like a light, but if someone tried to wake me up I already knew I would go all out or really try to hurt them.
Normally I am a very gentle person but when I go out I will mix with me and I try to hurt your hammy husband to sleep in the extra room one night
My daughter started screaming in another room because she was so scared of bugs.
He told me the next morning that he had a dream and that he was trying to cross the wall.
Sure enough, I went home and looked at it. half of the walls were gone.
Thanks for the new wall baby.
I find it hard to believe.
In fact, I think it's unbelievable.
I don't think it's impossible to believe.
This happens to my wife when she is very tired.
She never tried to tear down a wall, but she could if she wanted to sleep.
It is very difficult to wake her up from this state, and she can do most of the functions with limited success.
If she has something to say, the conversation can last for 30 minutes.
It has advantages.
She can't keep a secret in this state, so if she's upset about something, she'll tell me why.
At the same time, it also has its disadvantages.
If she is not happy with me, I can hear it twice.
I think it's a sleep doctrine (aka sleep-walking). A)
What does your daughter's fear of bugs have to do with anything in this story?
Didn't she scream because a madman hit the wall? B)
Your husband didn't notice that he took out half of the wall when he woke up in the morning?
He's just wondering how strange this dream is?
Yes, that's right. I certainly hope this is not a federal-funded study, because who has not experienced this and who cares?
People on the receiving end of sleep
It may cause a car accident or a plane crash.
Why don't you want the federal government to fund and research something potentially dangerous?
I personally know many people who have serious accidents due to lack of sleep.
It seems like it might be a good idea to stop such things.
Yes, it's even stupid.
Your comments are funny. So true.
I know that my husband will last 10 minutes almost every night.
I started sleeping in the bedroom of the sofa or my daughter.
Are you five?
Play with yourself so adults can talk.
Very stupid, very agree.
For those who say they are experiencing sleep deprivation or accidents due to sleep-induced events, they will be interested in the study. . . you lack logic.
The problem is actually not related to falling asleep on the steering wheel.
The focus of this study is to awaken people from deep sleep.
If your friends wake up from deep sleep while dealing with the car, they are doing it wrong.
Because of this, I really fell off the stairs a few days ago.
I have to sleep two nights a week and am taking prescription drugs now.
This is not a joke.
I will never drive in this case!
In the house where I grew up, even now we have a phrase to describe this phenomenon.
We call it "wake up ".
Sadly, in this world of syndrome and disease, the simple act of waking up is now classified as abnormal.
This is ridiculous.
This is not a simple wake-up for most of us.
This is an unusual but not unusual situation that could be dangerous.
Just say "I'm trying to read this but the text hurts my brain so next time I'll guess what it's about and go wrong ".
No, it's different from waking up.
I 've experienced this before, and it's really weird that this happens when you're forced to wake up like an alarm clock.
Once I had a Episode wake up and I was pretty sure I was a character in a book I was reading. It was a non-
I think I'm a guy named Jeff connolton. I'm a girl!
Haha, I'm under a lot of pressure because I think I have to write a speech.
I have other weird episodes, too. . . .
They usually do stressful things, such as homework, writing essays, exams, and doing math.
This time happened (
I don't remember if I was sleeping. math or sleep-essay writing.
I'm doing school-related things)
When I finally became coherent, I realized I had a pencil in my hand!
Haha, this happens only when I'm not sleeping enough, and even then it doesn't happen much, so I'm not too worried.
I never slept violent! Wrong.
It's not just waking up.
I 've been with my other half for three years now and if I had a problem I tried to wake him up and he would get up but would be in a totally different mindset.
Talk about what he thinks is happening.
He just woke up when I typed because I accidentally got too loud to start trying to find something.
It was incredibly frustrating, and I was afraid that I would have serious problems and that he would not be freed from it.
For him, it will take almost eight minutes most of the time to start a normal performance.
This often happens when I try to understand him, and sometimes he becomes violent.
This is not waking up.
Don't talk about things you don't know. This is news?
Everyone has been through this and those who don't have a memory response don't remember having these episodes at all.
I bet many people suffer from insomnia after being drunk.
Another syndrome that doctors control and make money by intimidating us.
Now, if you wake up without "bright eyes and thick tails" as soon as you open your eyes, you have a dangerous medical condition that only a doctor can cure.
Hopefully people can distinguish between groggy waking up normally and this 15-minute confusion can hurt someone because of fear-those who don't need the help of a doctor anyway.
Learn to Read, sonnyboy.
Don't just browse it.
There are a lot of idiots today who want to comment on what they make up, not the actual article.
This is different from "not fully awake immediately after sleep" or "grumpy ".
Sometimes it feels like your body is useless: your brain won't start working right away (
Not "you're still sleeping"
Your body is not ready to move (
Not "you're still too tired to walk ")
You don't remember such important things as where you are.
The word "sleep drunk" is almost the best term in the state.
One reason to be more aware of this is to know that, for example, the trigger lock on a gun may allow you to accidentally shoot your child in the middle of the night, because it will force you to wake up before pulling the trigger.
People were found guilty and imprisoned for what they did in the state.
For cases that really cannot be prevented, we may think twice about criminal responsibility.
In my opinion, it would be tragic if someone had been imprisoned for something they really could not control.
Re-wrote this on the Zany warning sentence.
Ask your boss to make insurance claims and excuses for your actions.
This "research" sounds like the mouthpiece of a lazy person defending his behavior. The word laziness has a specific meaning-it's not a catch --
All the people you don't like and all the things you don't understand.
Do you really think that someone will wake up in panic because of laziness and may hurt others?
What's more about CNN's target message/internal jokes?
People who don't know how to keep a clear head say that others are drunk?
Those who can't stand the rules of trying to make the law?
Or just rent r to participate in the bidding of slum lords?
What the hell are you trying to say?
You must be one of those confused people in this article.
It's not a joke, I 've had a phone conversation, I don't remember someone kicking my ass while I was sleeping, I got up and started yelling and went back to bed right away, someone outside will do something and if they are woken up and then go back to sleep you won't remember what happened and it's not a pleasure. . .
Especially when my grandmother is in the hospital, I go back and forth 250 miles every few days between home and there and the house of my parents.
I woke up and looked at the wall, "OMG, where is the door? !
"And then realize oh no, I'm just not where I think it is and get over it.
Only when a spider enters the smoke alarm in the middle of the night did I try to go through a closed door. . .
Although the sudden pain woke me up very effectively.
This article is interesting enough that no CNN is trying to make headlines for a completely normal experiential impact.
For those of you who scoff at "this happens to everyone occasionally", you are lucky and this happens once in a while.
I think the article refers to those who have problems frequently or frequently.
My mother asked us not to talk to her for the first 15 to 20 minutes after she woke up in the morning, because her brain has not "opened" yet ".
During that time, she said, when someone tried to talk to her, it sounded like a noise.
She couldn't understand what we were talking about, and the "noise" hurt both her ears and her head.
When I was in my 40 s, I started going through the same thing.
The earlier I wake up, especially the alarm clock, the worse it is, the longer it lasts.
Also, when I wake up, no matter how much sleep I get or when I go to sleep, I feel under anesthesia and it's easy to get back to deep sleep.
This means that I have to fight my "drunk" mind/body every morning in order to get up at decent times.
Day after day, it's a painful way to start.
This article points out that there may be potential sleep disorders.
It gave me hope!
I have to do more research.
Sleep apnea is also very serious.
My father has been on a machine for 15 years.
People stop breathing during sleep and oxygen does not enter the brain.
Helen Keller woke up and answered the waffle iron.
How did the waffle iron ring?
She should have checked. . . .
Helen Keller, 80 days later, near the block.
I have also suffered this kind of pain.
Once I slept on a friend lazy boy and when I woke up in the middle of the night I left lost, lonely and confused.
I started to panic and I cried and kept crying and asking God why this happened.
I found a flashlight by accident, but the battery was dead.
I found a tissue box that wiped away the tears I cried so badly, but it was empty.
I became more excited and angry as I made a hole in the wall of the family room.
My friend daughter must have got a fright and started screaming because she was afraid of bugs.
The hole I hit was big enough that she had turned on the light, and just then I realized I was suffering from sleep drunkenness.
I am so relive.
At least you don't have sex with their daughter.
I don't know why this is called "disorder ".
Awakening is not an instant process, and confusion can be expected to varying degrees.
We should all stay in our world.
So libs can push the world to hell without any objection. . . . . .
If my husband often doesn't remember the conversation after waking up, he will be angry.
He's always been like this.
Worse now, he suffered from post-traumatic stress during his trip to Iraq and Afghanistan. (
Thank God, memory part, not anger part)
So he had to turn off the phone ringing while he was sleeping, otherwise he would answer the phone and don't remember. (
He works in the middle of the night)
One summer morning, my granddaughter told me while walking that she woke up outside when she was 5.
Now I call this a security issue! !
We put the lock on the top of the door and she couldn't reach it.
When the children were young, we had to do the same.
Fortunately, our house at the time had sensors that muttered as the door opened. . . .
At 3: 00 in the morning, I went to see why a child outside in his pajamas muttered.
Put the swing lock on the top of the door the next day.
I don't think they'll have the mind to climb up the chair and open it in sleepwalking, but if there's fire so they're awake enough.
While some comments are interesting, my concern about this is whether it really lasts longer than people expected.
My idea is that when people get into deep sleep, they have to wake up because they can only sleep for a few hours a night due to work/school/family schedules, in their "day, they don't feel fully awake.
This can lead to driving to sleep, feeling distracted, losing memory, and overeating (
Because the body is confused)Even insomnia.
Is there an association?
That explains why I woke up and found myself eating frozen chicken chops.
Once, I woke up at four o'clock A. M. and pressed the cancel button on the microwave over and over again.
I think beeping is the reason that scared me enough to go back to sleep.
Woke my mom up, too.
The expression on her face is priceless.
This is a very terrible condition.
One night, I went home after bowling and fainted in the backyard.
I woke up red with a beautiful blonde kiss. .
When I woke up, my wife showed me a picture of me kissing Labrador retreiver.
Interestingly, the dog is better than my wife's kiss.
I don't believe it's news.
Researchers may have received substantial funding to carry out the study.
Think it's good, try to pee in your clothes.
One night I had a friend do this in the barracks. . .
It's probably a lot of alcohol.
It's just 1 out of 7 doing stupid things when sleepy or waking up a few minutes after lacking fine motor skills.
Will this affect your life?
Can you survive the drowsiness?
Why is this news?
All these and more at 11. . .
Perhaps the problem is long working days and late nights, which are often done by newsI's family.
I always find it confusing because when I wake up I am completely awake every time.
When I go through this, my family can't understand the simplest things at all, and it can be very frustrating to wait for them to wake up.
The point that this article does not address is that if a person who is constantly suffering from this pain is habitually not sleeping enough (
I only need to sleep 5 hours a night! )
They are in chaos in a normal "sober" state.
I saw someone arguing with the DMV rep at the State Fair's "information about your teen getting a license" booth, telling them they didn't make sense and better explain it, over and over until we finally pulled him away and said we got it and we'll let you know later.
It's not complicated information, it was just complicated for him at the time.
I don't usually remember dreaming that I woke up, but I fell asleep when I woke up.
But it can only be disturbing if the traffic is heavy.
Is it hard or natural for you to behave like a ruthless jerk?
You should really be ashamed of yourself.
You have no right to judge others before you are perfect.
If you don't have any positive contributions to people's comments, leave your ignorant views to yourself!
I want to know how many diseases we will have in ten years. . .
I tend to think that they have been trying to create more and more from anything typical, just to justify their research existence and money grab. . . Utter BS.
It's a waste of my time.
Fire these researchers and let them work in the fields and plow their own. why are these children commenting on the story?
While you were waiting for the bus, did anyone find it on her phone? You all decided to go get it? Get lost.
Obviously you don't understand what's going on with this, so please comment on the latest Bieber story and let's talk. Thanx.
I have a thing like this, about once a month, something will obviously wake me up from my sleep, I will knock out the garbage of my wife and children's lives and go back to sleep, I woke up the next morning. I don't remember. I laughed.
You better be kidding!
Can I know if this sleep drunk thing is serious?
In a way, if the time is extended, it will cause damage to your health?
This has always happened to me, but I have never been violent in this state.
My mother, growing up, once had this status with me and my brother to find out anything we hide from her, because she found that, in this state, we can't lie. it's just our subconscious mind that provides information.
I let my husband swear that he will never try this with me and I don't know if he will. . . lol.
No one here is smart enough to read the article before commenting, so no one here is worth talking. Bbye kids.
Is fast eye movement sleep not fast eye movement sleep? no kidding.
Sometimes I go to bed in my shirt.
Woke up the next day and it was gone.
But I don't remember taking it off while I was sleeping.
This must be!
I kissed the CEO at a health insurance company.
Now, I have taken over your $1,000,000 healthcare because there is no value added to your healthcare.
I'm alone.
Now think about how many other CEOs, VPs, directors, managers, etc.
I'm alone in the company.
Now thousands of others from hundreds of other health insurance companies have doubled that number.
From $10 to 25% of your healthcare dollars to administrative management that adds value to your healthcare.
But my company's PAC dollar will continue to fool you guys who think the single payer system will be bad.
Little people like you can easily be fooled.
The small people also didn't realize that a single payer system is the only system that allows the small people to use (
As a whole country)
Negotiate better health care prices
The little ones don't realize that the medical cartel already knows this.
That's why medical cartels spend so much PAC money from hospitals and doctors lobbying against a single payment system.
Some little people say that a single payer system will pay more for you little people.
But if so, wouldn't the hospital and doctors need extra money?
Yes they would.
So why would a medical cartel lobby against a single payment system?
This is because the medical cartel knows that it will allow a few people to negotiate better medical prices.
This is what medical cartels fear. Period.
But the big American wigs of insurance companies, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies, no matter how much they spend, need not worry about health care.
We get the health care of you little people in one way or another.
We let the little people who work in our company contribute to our PACs.
The big wig in the United States says it's a job to protect small people.
But actually, it is in the best interest of the little people not to contribute to PAC.
Once again, it is so easy for small people to fall.
I don't have to worry about losing my job anymore because so many little people have been brainwashed by PAC money from medical companies.
Not only that, but the PAC funds for medical companies are also used to elect so many Republicans who will never allow a single payment system.
Republicans have been opposed to any meaningful health care reform.
But that's what our medical company's PACs pays them.
Politicians can buy it easily.
Soon, the only person who can afford medical expenses is our wig.
This is what it should look like.
When we need resources, we don't want you guys to run out of resources.
Once again, I thank you little people for limiting my SS tax to $117,000.
Now I only pay 1.
17% SS tax, you guys pay 6. 2%.
Also, thank you for extending my tax offer.
I used the extra money in the holiday villa.
I hacked your company's computer and now I have unlimited health care and you can get aspirin for free. Baby aspirin.
Thanks for the new curved TV, you have such a high limit on your credit card and you will never notice that I have lethargy, so this often happens in the evening, but this happens if I take a nap
I have a point of thinking that everyone will do this from time to time, depending on the exact sleep stage you wake up.
I slept in the motel in the evening and I got this.
When I woke up, I said a few words in Hebrew and then began to feel like I was in a street play in France.
My scissors kicked the wall too hard, and my feet passed through the wall.
There is a couple and their daughter in the next room.
The daughter started screaming for fear of bugs.
I think it surprised me.
What's going on with all these "bug-fearing" stuff? I don't get it!
It doesn't even make sense!
I suffered this.
Usually only 10-
15 minutes, but sometimes it can last for an hour.
I was totally useless during that time: I couldn't answer questions, couldn't walk, could barely see or hear things, couldn't remember important things like location. . .
If you need my stuff before you get drunk, you're out of luck. . .
Or you just get the bits and pieces of it.
It's not just "not fully awake ".
It's almost like sensory deprivation.
The best way to remove fat mass.
I used this procedure to get my fat mass gone.
Just take a day, 15-
20 minutes a day.
