A fire broke out in Grenfell Tower in west London, killing many people. The deadly fire in Grenfell Tower has killed at least 12 people.

Witnesses were quoted in The Sun as saying the building was built within 15 minutes.
According to the newspaper, after the fire, other onlookers reported that the building appeared to be "stumbling on one side ".
The London Fire Brigade said a structural engineer and city search and rescue personnel assessed the stability of the tower, saying it was not in danger of collapse.
"Our staff are safe there," the brigade said.

A woman screamed and was supported by another woman when she fell down on the road.
The crowd appealed to the authorities for information, and the police prepared a list of evacuees and any residents still missing.

The high-rise apartment next to Grenfell was woken up by a loud scream and ran to her balcony to find the tower on fire.
"I heard the scream and I heard a man ask for help," she said . ".

"I grabbed my dressing gown, woke my wife up, grabbed my daughter and stuck her under my dressing gown so she wouldn't breathe in the smoke.
"Then we ran for the rest of our lives and we had to go through the fourth floor of the fire.

It's so crazy, it spreads so fast, like it's covered with gasoline, it's so fast.
"When we came out of the apartment, it was perfectly fine in a few minutes.

A witness said she saw a public catch of a baby that fell from a burning tower in west London.
Samira Lamrani told the British Press Association that she saw a woman trying to save the baby by putting it down from a window on the "nine or ten floors.
"People began to show up in front of the windows, banging and screaming frantically," she said.
The window was a bit half open and a woman pointed to say she was going to throw the child away if someone could catch her child.
Someone did, and a gentleman ran over and managed to catch the baby.

The fire authorities told shocked bystanders that any resident trapped in the building needed "self-protection"evacuate”.

"My nephew is inside, my cousin is inside," he said . " He added that he helped rescue workers take people, including his relatives, out of the building and both were rushed to hospital.
"I saw someone jump out of the window and it was crazy," he said . "
Another witness, Omar Jordan, also said he saw someone jumping off the floor near the middle of the building to escape.
