Gujarat government stops paying subsidies to rooftop solar scheme beneficiaries - cost of central locking system
The state government pays a subsidy of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 to beneficiaries, while the total cost of installing roof solar panels is RS. The Gujarat government has stopped paying subsidies to beneficiaries of the roof solar program since April 21.
The state government pays the beneficiary a subsidy of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 based on the total cost of installing roof solar panels.
Energy minister Saurabh Patel said the state has stopped paying because it has not received funding from the center's budget grant this year.
Patel said, "driven by the roof solar policy for the current fiscal year, the central government has not yet issued a grant for Gujarat.
Once the grant is given to the state government, we will begin to pay the subsidy to the beneficiary.
Under this policy, we will not prohibit any beneficiaries from receiving the subsidies they are eligible.
"However, the ministry of energy sources said that the policy is under review by the central and state governments, and the amount can be docked after re-consideration.
"India is also starting to produce silicon panels, which is why the installation cost of roof solar panels is falling.
That's why the government is reducing subsidies.
The national policy will soon change.
