toyota recalling over half a million cars because windows may shatter - power window system

539,500 Corolla and Matrix passenger cars are being recalled as the bolts in the power window system may be loose and eventually cause the window to break.
Toyota said on Wednesday it had received reports of 143 cases in which the bolts at the bottom of the power window assembly were loose, causing the window to rattle or causing the window to break.
Toyota spokesman Joe Tetherow said a minor accident occurred and 15 people were reportedly injured.
He said he did not know how many complaints Toyota had received about broken windows.
Affected vehicles are in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States. S.
Recall involves 2003-
Model 2004 Annual crown and matrix vehicle equipped with electric window.
Vehicles with manual windows are not included in the recall.
Car manufacturers said that if the window bolts are loose, the driver may hear abnormal noise from the driver or the front passenger door when operating the electric window.
Tetherow said the recall only affected vehicles sold in the United States.
Toyota will notify the owner of the recall by the end of April.
The dealer will replace the driver and front passenger door glass bolts for free.
